Vethanayaki and her husband Kannadasan are raising three kids in eastern Sri Lanka on very little, often buying rice and groceries on credit to get through the month. She keeps the household going while he works three jobs despite losing a hand, and they’re hoping their children can finish school and find steady work one day.
