Riyaan’s 2nd Birthday Fundraiser

Hooray…Riyaan turns two! He’s the luckiest boy in the world to be surrounded by loving parents, family and friends all around the world who shower him with everything he needs.

This year, in lieu of gifts, Riyaan would like to use his birthday to fundraise for families in Sri Lanka. Due to Covid, the worst economic decline it has experienced since Independence and the aftermath of a deadly civil war, the country is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. The United Nations estimates nearly 5.7 million people – half of them children – need urgent aid.

To respond to the unfolding crisis, Riyaan is working with Palmera, an organization taking a holistic response to serve 20,000 people in the most impoverished areas.

Their focus is to:

1) Provide Nutritional Packages for malnourished pregnant mothers and malnourished children under 5

2) Establish Home Gardens so families can ensure their most basic food necessities are met

3) Provide interest free loans for farmers to buy paddy so farmers who provide food for the country have enough to feed themselves

4) Provide Poultry Grants so families can access 5 chickens

5) Provide emergency cash vouchers for urgent health and other critical needs to the most vulnerable

Riyaan would love your help in raising money for families that are unable to afford the necessities we take for granted. Since he is part Sri Lankan Tamil, this cause is close to Riyaan’s heart and he greatly appreciates your donations.

Palmera is an Australian-based, tax deductible, Australian Government Accredited agency. We work to support the most vulnerable and marginalised in Sri Lanka so no one is left out.

You will get updated on the impact of your donation in the coming months and receive a tax deductible receipt upon donation to the email you provided in your donation form.
