A significant portion of households in Mullaithivu—estimated at over 25%—are headed by women. These women, many of whom are widows or single mothers due to the war, face unique challenges in providing for their families. They are often the backbone of their communities, managing households while striving to build livelihoods, despite limited access to resources and opportunities.
