TEWO 20 Year Anniversary

Thank you to all our donors, we have met our fundraising goal.

It’s our (TEWO) 20th anniversary and we wanted to celebrate our 20 years of making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged women in the Tamil Homelands in Sri Lanka. We want you to come celebrate with us! See details of our events below:

Event: A scrumptious high tea followed by a fashion show

Date: Sunday 13 October 2019

Time: 4 – 7pm

Venue: St Jude’s Parish Hall, 29 George Street, Scroesby VIC

Ticket: $40 pp

Our high tea will have over 20 Sri Lankan and Western items. The menu includes jalapeno rolls, pecan tarts, Malaysian tapioca cake, pan rolls, scones and many more. The fashion show, “The Unsewn Fabric’, will showcase the myriad of ways the unsewn fabric can crate limitless drapes.

At TEWO we really admire the great work Palmera does and how they help women in the North become independent and look after themselves and their families. We decided to donate the proceeds from our event to the Women’s Banking Network project.

This project will help build thriving business farms in the village of Kanthansamy Nagar. In this village building a thriving farm costs as little as $349 per farmer; which is only $78 a year over the 5-year programme. Each of the 105 farmers will learn how to compete and be successful within the farming marketplace, and the skills they learn will help them break down barriers that keep them excluded.
