Bandula doesn’t have a home he can call safe enough to bring up his son. He and his five-year-old son are living without proper shelter, and without even a toilet. When nature calls, they go to the jungle next to where they stay. That’s just what they do.

Bandula is twenty-five. He got married in 2020 and for a few years, he and his wife were building a life together, raising their son. Then in April this year, his wife passed away. She was twenty-one. She’d been dealing with severe headaches since they got married, and in the end, doctors found it was something in the nerves of her brain. There was nothing more they could do.
He’s on his own with his son now. He picks up whatever odd jobs are available to keep them going. And through all of it, the one thing he talks about is his son. He wants him to go to school. He wants him to do well. That’s what he’s working towards.
A house would give the two of them somewhere steady to come home to. Somewhere his son can grow up with a roof that holds and a door that closes. Somewhere Bandula can focus on being a dad, instead of just getting through the day.
And with your support, we can make a safe home a reality for Bandula and his little son.
